We live in a world that does not always make it easy to prioritize our mental health and wellness.
Dr. Emily Bemben is here to simplify the journey, offering guidance to make this task less
overwhelming while keeping you in the driver’s seat. She understands the importance of your
background and how it has impacted your current symptoms and strengths and is here to offer
nonjudgmental expertise while shaping a unique solution for you. As a board-certified
Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Dr. Emily Bemben trained to
evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health concerns across the lifespan. Emily is also certified in
Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International. She received her
Bachelor’s in Psychology from Occidental College, first working as a counselor and then as a
nurse after earning her Masters in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. She sees
patients holistically, considers multiple sources of symptoms, and always advocates for her
clients. Emily has worked as a PMHNP in numerous settings with people who have gone through
trauma, and she hopes to make mental health services more accessible to children, teens, and
adults from diverse backgrounds. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Valley
State University in 2023 and is an assistant professor at the Kirkhof College of Nursing.
